Hamas Political Bureau Deputy Chief Moussa Abu Marzouq threatened to launch an intifada against the PA in the West Bank unless the PA stopped its "indiscriminate" arrests of Hamas activists there. On July 31, 2008, PA President Abu Mazen ordered the immediate release of all Hamas detainees arrested in recent days following the events in Gaza.
