Egyptian Daily Harshly Criticizes U.S. Ambassador To Egypt

Graphic accompanying article, Roz Al-Yousef.

In an article in the Egyptian weekly Roz Al-Yousef, journalist Islam Kamal called U.S. Ambassador to Egypt Margaret Scobey an "owl" – in Egyptian Arabic, someone with an ugly face or a bringer of misfortune.

Kamal was responding to Scobey's criticism of the ruling in the matter of Ibn Khaldoun Center director Dr. Sa'd Eddine Ibrahim (see "Egyptian Court Sentences Sa'ad Eddin Ibrahim To Two Years' Hard Labor").

Kamal called Scobey an unwanted guest of Egypt who frequently interferes in internal affairs and increases Egypt's hatred of the U.S.

Kamal often castigates those who respond to legal rulings.
