Minni Minawi, faction leader of the Darfur rebel organization Sudan Liberation Movement, has said that the Sudan army had recently stepped up activity in Darfur.
He added that anyone who claims that the situation in Darfur is stable is a liar, hinting at Sudan President Omar Al-Bashir.
Minawi's organization is the only one that has signed a peace agreement with the Sudanese government. Following the signing, he was appointed presidential advisor.
