In Egypt, Legal Complaint Filed Over Ayman Nour's Letter To Obama

In Egypt, Justice, Legal Consultation, and Research Center head Samir Al-Sheshtawi, who is also an National Democratic Party member, has filed a complaint against imprisoned oppositionist Ayman Nour for his open letter to U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama ("Mixed Reactions In Egypt To Ayman Nour's Letter To Obama").

According to Al-Sheshtawi, Nour has damaged Egypt's image abroad, as well as Egypt's president and the Egyptian judicial system, and the letter includes false statements.

Al-Sheshtawi also called for summoning Magdi Al-Gallad, editor-in-chief of the Egyptian daily Al-Masri Al-Yawm, the paper that published the letter, for questioning as to why he chose to do so.
