Sudan President: If ICC Issues Arrest Warrant For Me, I'll Ask U.N. To Leave Sudan

In an August 22 interview, Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir told Al-Arabiya TV that if the International Criminal Court issues an arrest warrant for him, he would ask U.N. forces to leave Sudan.

He called the ICC an imperialistic apparatus for repressing the leaders of the Third World, and added that the lawsuit against him was aimed at removing him from power.

He also rejected the possibility of stepping down due to the lawsuit, saying that he would fight it.
