Syrian Former Prisoner Dies After Authorities Prevent Him From Going Abroad For Kidney Transplant

The Syrian Human Rights Committee reported yesterday, August 26, that Muslim Brotherhood activist Abd Al-Sattar Qattan had died after Syrian authorities had refused to let him travel abroad for a kidney transplant.

Qattan, 68, was freed in July 2007 from prison due to his failing health.
