Chinese Special Envoy to Sudan and Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun has said that Sudan must not expect a Chinese veto in the U.N. Security Council in the matter of the International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecution of Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir, and advised the Sudanese government to cooperate with the ICC.
However, he promised that China would use its connections with Britain and France to advance a UNSC resolution to suspend the proceedings against Al-Bashir.
