Turkish Daily: Wireless in UK Churches Faces Ban; Turkish Religious Affairs Directorate Opposed

The Turkish daily Hurriyet has reported that wireless base stations may be banned in UK churches because they can be used to access pornography.

According to the paper, London's St. Peter and St. Paul churches had applied to a UK church court to settle the issue and received the reply that the stations should be banned.

If this decision is approved, all base stations in churches and cathedrals would be demolished. The paper said that a church earns around £10,000 sterling by hosting a station.

Turkey's Religious Affairs Directorate disagreed with a ban. A directorate official said that the use of the station depended on the users, and "You can cut bread with a knife, but you can also kill someone."
