The Qatari daily Al-Arab reports that Palestinian sources said that Syria has asked the leaders of the Palestinian factions in its territory to take strictest cautionary measures for fear of assassination by Israel, against the backdrop of Israel's internal political struggle.
Particularly warned were Hamas political bureau chief Khaled Mash'al and Islamic Jihad secretary-general Ramadhan Shelah.
