In an interview on Syrian TV, Spanish FM Miguel Moratinos said that Europe recognized Syria's status and role, and that was why European foreign ministers were keen to visit Syria. He added that the attempt to isolate Syria had been "a grave mistake," because this was impossible, and also because it prevented Syria from fulfilling a positive and productive role.
