Iraqi Tribal Head Condemns Iranian Lawsuit For Compensation From Iraq

Ali Hatem Al-Salman, head of the Al-Dulaim tribes in Iraq, has condemned Iran's recently filed lawsuit for $600 billion in damages from Iraq for the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war, calling the demand quarrelsome and a response to the signing of the U.S.-Iraq security pact.

He added that it was Iran that should compensate Iraq – for its interference in Iraq's domestic affairs over the past five years, for stealing Iraqi oil in recent years, and for refusing to return Iraqi airplanes that it took over.
