Former Palestinian foreign minister Mahmoud Al-Zahar, from Hamas, declared that Hamas sees Palestine as a single unit from the river to the sea, and that it draws this from the Koran.

He clarified that Hamas will never relinquish the resistance and will not recognize Israel; that Hamas believes that the Jews have no historical or religious right to Palestine; and that Hamas will fight them until the land is liberated.

He added that there was no contradiction between the resistance and participation in the government, because the resistance is the strategic solution.
