Iraqi MP: Regional Power Impeding Growth of Oil Production

Haider Al-Abadi, Iraqi MP for the United Iraqi Coalition (the governing coalition), has accused unidentified regional political forces of impeding Iraqi efforts to increase oil production.

He said that available information suggests that regional forces [Saudi Arabia, in particular] are paying Iraqi elements millions of dollars to suppress Iraq’s capacity to increase oil exports and thereby compete with these regional forces.
