Former Syrian Minister: Ramallah Could Become Palestinian Saigon

Former Syrian minister Mahdi Dakhlallah warned, in an op-ed in the Syrian government daily Teshreen, that Fatah could possibly be used as a tool to achieve the Israeli dream of settling accounts with the resistance, that is, Hamas, after being defeated by it in Gaza.

He said that Ramallah was now facing a difficult test: Either it would adhere to the resistance and would make an effort to unite the Palestinian ranks, or it would gradually become a "Palestinian Saigon" facing a "Palestinian Hanoi" in Gaza.
