The People's Social Leaderships have nominated Saif-Islam Al-Qaddafi (37) as "general coordinator" with the authority to supervise the parliament and the government.
This nomination, which is likely to be rubber-stamped by the People's Congress, came in the wake of an appeal by his father, Muammar Al-Qaddafi, to find a suitable position for his son to pursue his reform programs.
The new position of "general coordinator" will assure the younger Qaddafi's succession as president of the country.
His father claims that he is not the head of state but rather the head of the revolution.
