On August 11, new Internet crimes statutes came into force in Saudi Arabia. The statutes stipulate penalties for up to 10 years' imprisonment and/or a fine of up to 50 million riyals for setting up or publicizing websites for terrorist organizations, or for circulating their ideas, and for doing the same with instructions for manufacturing explosives.
