Financial War between PA, Hamas

The Palestinian Monetary Authority and the Palestinian Bank Association have closed the banks in Gaza in protest of Hamas' seizing USD 400,000 from the Bank of Palestine. Hamas' action was perceived as a direct challenge to the Palestinian authorities in the West Bank, which froze the money as part of their struggle against money laundering.
