Turkish Poll: Turkey's Greatest Enemies – Israel and the U.S.

The Turkish daily Vakit has published the results of a survey on Turks' views of Israel and the U.S. The paper said that the survey, by the Ba?kent Research Company, was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,512 people in 15 Turkish cities. According to the survey, 91.5% of the respondents saw Israel as an enemy, while 77.1% felt the same about the U.S. Respondents also considered Armenia (88.7%) and Denmark (85.2%) to be enemies. 

Countries viewed by respondents as "friends" of Turkey were Afghanistan (82.7%), Palestine (92.7%), Pakistan (90.5%), Indonesia (75.8%), Iran (70.2%) and Egypt (63.2%).

The survey found U.S. President George Bush, followed by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, to be the most unpopular world leaders for Turks.
