Saudi Delegation Visits Iraq In Advance Of Opening Of Saudi Embassy

A Saudi delegation completed, on September 2, a three-day visit to Iraq in advance of the opening of a Saudi embassy in Baghdad.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari called the visit an important move that would encourage additional Arab countries to come to Iraq.

He said that the Iraqi delegation was very interested in establishing diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia because of its status in the Arab and international arena, and that an Iraqi ambassador was expected to be dispatched there in the near future.
