Report: Syria Mobilizing Reserves

The Lebanese daily Al-Nahar has reported that on the evening of September 8 it received news of partial mobilization of Syrian reserves.

The paper stated that it was not clear whether this mobilization was in response to Israel's invasion of Syrian airspace last week.

Former Syrian information minister Mahdi Dakhlallah told Radio Sawa in an interview that he was expecting sensitive developments between Israel and Syria in the coming days. He said that the situation was very complex and that if matters deteriorated, would get hurt.

Dakhlallah noted that the Syrian leadership could no longer continue with its policy of restraint.
