Turkish FM To Iranian FM: Turkey Won't Let Anyone Attack Iran From Its Soil

Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoglu told Iranian Deputy FM Mohammad Ali Fathallahi at their meeting in Ankara that Turkey would not permit anyone to attack Iran from its soil, and that no one will defend Israel from its soil either.

Fahallahi called for stronger relations between the two countries.

The Iranian daily Kayhan noted that the Turkish foreign minister's statements were made at the same time as U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta stated that the NATO missile defense system would protect Israel.
