A senior Hizbullah source has denied a report yesterday in the London daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat that Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has cut back on the authority of Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah (http://www.thememriblog.org/blog_personal/en/4089.htm). The source stated that the report did not contain a single grain of truth, and that its release was the result of the shock experienced by the world's intelligence circles when they discovered the extensive support for Hizbullah, Nasrallah's status in the Lebanese, Arab, Islamic, and international arenas, and the Hizbullah fighter's opposition to the occupation. The source added that the fact that the report was first published the day before in the Israeli daily Ma'ariv raised some thoughts about who was spreading these rumors.
