Al-Sadr: Wage Military, Cultural Jihad Against Occupiers

Sadrist leader Muqtada Al-Sadr has called on Shi'ites to adhere to activity for liberating Iraq and the Muslim world from the imperialist occupation by means of jihad and military resistance, or by means of cultural resistance to the secular Western ideology.

The official spokesman of the Mahdi Army said that the Mahdi Army would not disarm but would split, with part dealing with military struggle and part with ideological and cultural struggle.
