International Qods (Jerusalem) Day Marked In Iran And Internationally Part 1

International Qods (Jerusalem) Day, which was instituted by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran to support the Palestinians and to voice the protest of the Islamic ummah against the "Zionist usurpers," was marked today in Iran and across the world.
In Iran, millions of people gathered in Tehran for the march, chanting 'Death to Israel' and holding anti-Israeli and anti-American signs. One marcher, quoting the words of Imam Khomeini, said, "We must remove the cancer of the Zionist establishment." Another marcher called on Israel to "stop its crimes immediately."
Mohammad Ali Ramin, advisor to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, said, "Qods Day is a day to report on the work of the Muslim world, to see what they've done to save the Palestinians in the previous year."
Former Iranian president and Expediency Council chairman Hashemi Rafsanjani said that if the entire Muslim world "would come together to support the Palestinian people, it would break the spirit of the Zionists" (see also Rafsanjani's Friday sermon, http://www.thememriblog.org/iran/blog_personal/en/10148.htm).
Ralliers called on international organizations to end their biased policies and approaches which give the occupiers a green light to go ahead with their crimes. In a nine-point resolution issued at the end of the rallies, the people called for putting an end to savage crimes committed by the Zionists in Gaza.
"The Islamic world under no circumstances officially recognizes the forged Zionist regime and believes that a day will come when the cancerous tumor would be wiped off the world map," reads the resolution.
The resolution also expresses full support for the Lebanese Hizbullah and its brave leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, as well as the legal and popular government of Palestine and its head Prime Minister Ismail Haniya.
