Iribnews: Iran, Russia To Expand Defense Ties

Iranian Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar arrived in Moscow earlier this week, at the head of a military delegation, at the invitation of Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov.

During the visit, Najjar is to meet with Russian officials and inspect military sites and industries.

Upon his arrival, he told reporters that international and regional conditions requires that Iran and Russia hold effective talks on issues of mutual interest, as they are neighboring countries with common opportunities and threats.

He added that both countries feel responsibility over regional peace, stability and security, so they keep any security change and measures in the region under their strict supervision.
