Iranian Commander Stresses Basij's Role in Defusing Enemy Plots

A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) today underlined the significant role played by Basij (volunteer) forces in defusing enemies' plots against the Islamic Revolution.
"Today, the enemy is using soft warfare as a new tactic for confronting the Islamic Republic ruling system and is negligent of the power, independence and grandeur of the great Iranian nation as well as power of the (Iran's) Armed Forces, including the Basijis," IRGC Lieutenant Commander Brig.-Ge. Hossein Salami said, addressing a large congregation of Basijis in Iran's western province of Lorestan.
He further warned that enemy's soft warfare is aimed at destroying the mind and thoughts of the Iranians, and added, "Faith and belief are the weapons of the Iranian nation for confronting enemy's soft war."
Salami noted that the enemy has not been able to successfully implement its devilish plots since the victory of the Islamic Republic because of Basij and wise leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
