Ahmadinejad: Iran Ready to Cooperate With Brazil on Nuclear Plants

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has announced Tehran's readiness to cooperate with Brazil in building nuclear plants.

"We have no problem in the field of nuclear technology, so we do not need to import it from Brazil," Ahmadinejad said in an interview with Brazil's state television, elaborating on the offer for nuclear cooperation with Brazil.

Asked if Iran intends to import nuclear technology from Brazil, he reiterated, "Iran's nuclear technology is for producing nuclear energy, but the nuclear plants technology is aimed at using the nuclear energy (and not producing it).

"Thus, the two countries can have good cooperation in this field," Ahmadinejad said, and lauded Brazil's support for Iran's right to use nuclear energy.

He further reiterated that cooperation and consultations with Brasilia will continue in this regard.
