Khamenei: Confronting Enemy's Soft War Iran's Top Priority

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei today underlined the necessity for proper measures to repel the enemy's soft war against Iran.

"Today, the main priority of the country is to confront (enemy's) soft warfare which is aimed at creating doubt, discord and pessimism among the mass of people," Khamenei said, addressing a large and fervent congregation of Basij (volunteer) forces here in Tehran today.

"Given the failure of the arrogant powers in the hard confrontation with the Islamic ruling system in the first decade after the (Islamic) Revolution, soft war has now come on the enemy's agenda, so confrontation against enemy's soft war is the main priority today," the Leader noted.

"In soft war, enemy seeks to create doubt, pessimism and discord by spreading rumors and lies and using certain excuses through advanced cultural and communication means," Khamenei noted.

He further praised the significant role played by Basij in defending Iran in different scenes and stages of the Revolution, saying, "The Islamic ruling system will face no threat as long as Basij exists, and this issue is of fundamental significance."
