Ahmadinejad: Iran, Iraq Will Support Each Other

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said during his meeting with Iraqi Vice President 'Adel Abd Al-Mahdi in Tehran that their two countries would stand by each other and support each other.

Abd Al-Mahdi said that Iraq was interested in strengthening ties with Iran as much as possible, and noted that the region's problems could not be solved without Iranian involvement.

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said that Tehran would continue to support strengthening democracy in Iraq, where elections are to be held soon.
