'Kayhan': Ba'th Party's Rise In Iraq Will Undermine Region's Stability

The Iranian daily Kayhan, which is close to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, stated that the U.S., England, and Saudi Arabia are plotting a coup in Iraq so as to reinstate the Ba'th party of the Sunni minority as the country's rulers, and to distance Iraq's Shi'ite Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki, from the "resistance" front headed by Iran.

The newspaper stated that Al-Maliki and Iraq's other senior officials, both Shi'ite and Sunni, understood that Iran is the most solid support in the Middle East, and warned that a return of the Ba'th would undermine regional stability.
