Conflicting Versions Of Jundallah Leader Rigi's Capture

Metransparent.com stated that Jundallah leader Abdolmalek Rigi was extradited to Iran in a deal with Saudi intelligence, in exchange for Iran ceasing its support for the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

A ceasefire has been in effect there for the past two weeks, supported by Iran.

Kyrgyz authorities rejected reports that Rigi was captured on a Kyrgyz plane that took off from Dubai.

The London daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reports, citing Iranian sources, that Iran had intercepted the Kyrgyz plane and forced it to land at Bandar Abbas in southwestern Iran, and that Rigi was transferred to a military helicopter and brought to Tehran.

Jundallah rejected Iran's version of events, and stated that Rigi was captured with the help of Pakistani intelligence apparatuses. They said that if Iran's version were true, then there is no doubt that the Iranians would have published photos of Rigi's capture aboard the plane.
