Fatemeh Karroubi, wife of Iranian protest movement leader Mehdi Karroubi, has said that in a phone conversation with her, Deputy Culture Minister Mohammad Ali Ramin had implied a threat to her husband's life.
The phone call took place shortly before the closure of the Irandokht weekly, which belongs to her son Hossein (see Ahmadinejad Gov't Shuts Down Opposition Newspapers).
She said that the closure of the weekly was due to the regime's mental fixation and totalitarianism.
