The Tehran Chief Prosecutor's Office announced that 30 individuals have been arrested on charges of espionage. According to the Iranians, they belonged to two CIA cells: the first distributed software that allows Iranians to access websites blocked by the regime, while the other carried out espionage activities such as identifying nuclear scientists, and also "organized riots" and "disseminated lies." The Iranians claimed further that the cells were financed by the U.S. International Broadcasting Bureau and by the State Department, which had allocated $50 million to their activity.
