Majlis Members Demand Action Against Dissident Academics

In Iran, 130 Majlis members have demanded that Science, Research, and Technology Minister Kamran Daneshju act against university lecturers who are acting to topple the regime and to spread secularism in society.

Previously, Daneshju declared that lecturers who intend to spread secularism have no place in Iran, and that this is one of the regime's red lines.

At a conference of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), Yahya Rahim Safavi, senior advisor to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, warned that the universities had become centers of opposition to the regime.
