The Iranian website Tabnak has called on the regime to increase imports from Qatar and Oman and to establish a free trade zone with Turkey and Syria, in response to economic limitations by the UAE on Iran, including a 30% reduction in trade between the two countries.
The website stated this move by the UAE is unconnected to the sanctions, and that it stems from a deal it made with the U.S. to force Iran into concessions on the three Gulf islands whose ownership is in dispute.
