Iranian Official: E.U. Must Clarify Position On Israeli Nukes

Saeed Jalili, Iranian National Security Council Secretary, informed Catherine Ashton, the E.U. High Representative for Foreign Affairs, that Iran would be willing to renew negotiations if the E.U. promised to avoid all pressure and threats against it, and after the E.U. clarified its position on Israel's nuclear weapons.

This statement comes after a recent declaration by Iranian President Ahmadinejad that his country was suspending the negotiations until the end of Ramadan (late August), in retaliation for the latest round of sanctions.
