Iranian News Agency: Iran Can Harm Russian Interests In Caucasus

In response to statements by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev regarding the military potential of Iran's nuclear program, Iran's official news agency IRNA stated that the deterioration in Moscow-Tehran relations would harm Russian interests in Chechnya, the Republic of Dagestan, and the republic of Ingushetia in the northern Caucasus.

The agency further said that Russia was aware of Iran's influence in this region.
