Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast today expressed dismay over Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's perception about Iranian nuclear program.
Mehmanparast made the remarks in his weekly press briefing with domestic and foreign reporters.
He said that Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has already responded to the Russian president's misapprehensions regarding Iran's nuclear program.
He has a misunderstanding about the peaceful nuclear program of Iran, which should be corrected, Mehmanparast said, adding that close cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency is a strong reason to prove that the country's nuclear program is of peaceful nature.
"We have clarified our strategy in nuclear program to the international community and maintained that Iranian nuclear activities are totally peaceful," he said.
He said that the Iranian nation expects their government to make efforts to vindicate their legitimate rights enshrined by Non-Proliferation Treaty and in line with the Safeguards Agreement of the IAEA.
