Expediency Council Chairman Hashemi Rafsanjani, considered the No. 2 man in the Iranian regime hierarchy, has criticized the opposition of the government of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the privatization process that was decided upon, and to the 20% reduction in its control of the market to which it committed.
Rafsanjani said that importing three million tons of sugar annually when local high-quality products remained in the warehouses was an example of "problems in running the country."
