Iranian News Agency 'Fars' Shut Down

Iran's Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has ordered a temporary closure for the conservative news agency Fars, until June 5.

The closure follows the agency's publication of "a false news item and for confusing public opinion" regarding the possibility that the director of Iran's Central Bank will be replaced.
