Jannati: We Must Continue Resistance

Interim Tehran Friday prayer leader Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said in his Friday sermon that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was calling on people to be resistant and observe patience at all times, and in confrontation with hardships. Jannati was referring to Khamenei's recent remarks on Mab'ath Eid.
Jannati, who is also Assembly of Experts secretary, told thousands of worshipers at central campus of Tehran University, "Continuing resistance is a need, we will tolerate sanctions and enmities, and stand tall at our Islamic stronghold.. Just like the Infallible Imams (AS), who resisted in confrontation with hardships, and their resistance and patience led to Islam and Shi'a's enduring, as well as the victory of the Islamic Revolution against the power of atheist enemies thanks to resistance, today, too, we are in need of continuing resistance." He also expressed his appreciation for the Judiciary force, the Intelligence Ministry, and the police for arresting, trying, and executing hooligans, arguing, "This decisive move was praiseworthy, since the roots of corruption need to be dried up."
He reiterated, "It does not make sense that in the Islamic Republic of Iran a single person would kill 50 human beings and then walk about at large in the streets, or that someone found guilty of rape would roam freely in society." He added, "Such moves should have been made decades ago, and yet, even today they are to be appreciated." He went on to condemn those "sitting abroad, receiving prizes from the foreigners, and condemning such moves," arguing, "If they had suffered miseries such as being raped, they would have approved of the Iranian nation's move in this respect."
