Iran Launches Satellite Carrier; Official: Iran To Send Astronaut To Space In Next Decade

The head of Iran's Aerospace Organization, Reza Taqipour, has announced that Iran is planning to send its first astronaut into space in the coming decade.

He made the statement following the successful launch of its Safir 1 rocket, which is slated to carry a telecommunications satellite into space within the year.
