Chief of Turkish General Staff Gen Basbug said "eradicating AK Party" document was aimed at wearing down the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) while only a few hours later the Ergenekon prosecutors summoned the Colonel who is said to have signed the document to bear testimony.
Gen. Ilker Basbug said the "plan to eradicate AK Party and Gulen congregation" was not a document but a mere piece of paper. He said certain organised conspiracies turned into a defamation campaign against TSK and regarded this campaign as an "asymmetric phycological war".
Basbug pointed out that a document which was seized in June 4th was serviced to a daily newspaper, adding that reports of the police and Gendarmerie leaked out. "I wonder if there is intention behind this?" asked Basbug.
A few hours after Basbug's statement, Col. Cicek Dursun whose signature is on the said document, was summoned by the Ergenekon prosecutors to bear testimony.
