Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan commented on the recent developments regarding the possible coup d’etat attempt towards the Gulen movement and his party. Erdogan said that they will never allow any anti-democratic attempts to achieve their goals. He stated that there are people who try to create conflict between different institutions of the state. Causing separation between the institutions will only harm the state and no one should do politics by hiding behind the soldiers.
The prime minister also accused the republican CHP leader Deniz Baykal for being the lawyer of the Ergenekon organization. Erdogan said that his party is the lawyer of the entire nation which sets it apart from other political parties. His party will continue to preserve democracy and laicism.
