US Central Command chief Gen. David Petraeus arrived in Ankara on Tuesday to discuss issues such as northern Iraq, the terrorist PKK, and cooperation in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Petraeus is reportedly in Ankara in line with ongoing strategic meetings between Turkey and the US. Speaking about Petraeus' visit, US Ambassador to Ankara James Jeffrey yesterday said that there are no concrete plans for withdrawing US troops from Iraq through Turkish territory and that none were due to be discussed during Petraeus' visit.
