The Republican CHP leader Deniz Baykal said that the law which will pave the way for the trial of civilians only at the civilian courts, was formulated without consulting with the National Defense Ministry or any other important bodies and that such an important change cannot made without letting anybody know about it. Baykal argued that the ruling party intends to deceive the Turkish nation.
Baykal stated that the nation does not like the military intervening in political affairs but it also disapproves the politicians who intrude in the affairs of the army or the media or the judicial bodies. Baykal said that the Turkish Prime Minister is trying to stir up the army and they call upon him to move his hands away from the Turkish armed forces.
