Islamist Turkish Website: “The Jewish Agent Lions Enemies Of Headscarf”
Radical Islamist website Velfecr.com described the International Lions Club as a branch of Masonic network and accused its members of being Jewish agents. Lions Club had recently published an announcement in a few mainstream dailies that said, “We the Turkish Lions are watching with sorrow the efforts to allow the turban - which we consider as a political symbol – in our universities. We want to share with the public that we consider this as a move against the founding principles and core values of our Republic, especially the principle on secularism. Signed: The Confederation of Turkish Lions Clubs”. Velfecr report said that the Lions’ expression of sorrow in face of the efforts to free the headscarf in universities is another clear example of Jewish treason and manifestation of their hatred for Islam and Muslims. The readers’ comments to the report contain virulent anti-Semitism, threats, incitement to violence and admiration for Palestinian terrorist organizations, including George Habash, FFLP, Hizbullah, and Hamas.
