PM Erdogan Makes His Case To The Public City After City: "Judicial Move Against The People, Not AKP"

PM Erdogan’s first reaction to the indictment filed against his party came today in the southeastern city of Siirt where he spoke at an AKP convention. A defiant Erdogan said that the filing of the indictment was a move against the nation’s will, and not against the AKP.

Erdogan told the cheering crowd that AKP was founded by the people’s will and only the people could close it down. He said, “Nobody can say that AKP is the hotbed of secularism”, and to correct his slip of tongue added, “Nobody can say that the AKP is hotbed of anti-secularism”. He said that those who were responsible for this disgrace would bear the consequences; and would live in shame. Erdogan said that no storm could deter AKP from its march and nobody had the power to stop them.
