Radical Islamist, Pro-Hamas Rally In Istanbul; "Israel Cancer Virus That Must Be Destroyed!"
Following is the speech delivered by the radical Islamist activist Nureddin Sirin in Beyazid, Istanbul on March 7, 2008 during a pro-Hamas, pro-Hizbullah rally. These gatherings have become frequent, have spread all over Turkey, attract bigger crowds and are bolder in their hateful rhetoric and incitement to jihad. Nureddin Sirin was convicted and sentenced for 15 years in prison in 1990s for his radical Islamist activities, but was released during AKP rule, before serving his full term.
“The Zionist occupation forces carried out the most savage massacre of the recent years. But as we all watched, the Zionist forces that entered Gaza with the purpose to break the resistance of our mujahideen brothers, to eliminate the mujahideen that hit the Zionist targets with rockets, and even to topple the legitimate government of Hamas and its prime minister Haniya, did not succeed in reaching their goals. Thanks to the heroic resistance of al Qassam brigades the Zionists lost 10 soldiers and left behind tens of their wounded (crowd: cheers for Hamas) and in face of their heavy losses the Zionists had to run away (crowd: repeated chants of Allahu Akbar). […] By grace of Allah, yesterday the Palestinian mujahideen blew up an armored vehicle of the Zionist forces killing one of their soldiers (crowd: Allahu Akbar.. Kill kill Hamas kill.. kill Israel, kill) Yes my brothers, while we were flying with joy and happiness for Israel’s losses, we also saw one of the biggest blows dealt on Israel, in the evening hours, when eight Zionists were killed (crowd: Allahu Akbar….). In Quds (Jerusalem) a Palestinian mujahid brother entered a center that is the center, the brain of Zionism and killed there eight Zionists and wounded 35 Zionists (crowd: Allahu Akbar…) We cry out ‘Khaibar Khaibar Al Yahud’, we say ‘Wait Jew, just wait for your Khaibar [destruction]’ […]Allah willing, soon, very soon, with the help, with the grace of Allah, we will witness also the victory of our Palestinian brothers, the elimination of the Zionist state, and the liberation of Quds (crowd: Allahu Akbar…La e la he illallah…)
"My brothers! The thousands of Muslims gathered here - men, women, young, old, and children –are showing that we stand together with the Islamic Resistance of Palestine; we lift up the morale of our Palestinian brothers. We affirm here in front of Allah, for both our Palestinian brothers and our Zionist enemy to hear, that all of us here are ready to support our Palestinian brothers, not only by our outcry, but with all our beings, with our souls, with our blood (crowd: Birruh Biddem Nefdika ya Aksa – our soul, our blood we’ll give for your sake, al-Aqsa). With this determined community here we are sending to Turkey, to Middle East and to the world this message: Zionist Israel is a cancer virus that has to be destroyed! Zionist Israel is illegitimate! (crowd: Down with Israel…)… My brothers, we’ll now repeat our prayer, our wishes, and our request from Allah: With Allah’s will in the nearest future we will all meet in the free Quds and we will conduct our namaz (prayer) of conquest, of thanksgiving and of Islamic unity under the dome of Al-Aqsa, in its courtyard and its vicinity. Selamun aleykum.(crowd: Allahu Akbar…)”
A few days after Istanbul rally the radical Islamist Turkish daily Vakit columnist Cevdet Kiliclar - seen in the video clip standing on the platform close to Sirin - was detained by Egyptian police in Rafah border gate, when he was trying to enter Gaza with other Turkish Islamists.
