Legal Circles Warn AKP: Don’t Meddle With Constitution, Or You’ll Face A Second Indictment

Honorary President of the Supreme Court of Appeals [Yargitay] Sabih Kanadoglu said that any attempt by AKP to make legal manipulations in their effort to find a way out of the closure case, would be against the principle of the ‘rule of law’, adding that such actions by political parties against this principle would constitute another reason for closure.

Former head of the High Administrative Court [Danistay] Nuri Alan stated that Article 138 of the Turkish Constitution prevents such moves and said, “The Constitution strictly bans any move that will affect the outcome of a lawsuit. Moreover, this means the legislative is trying to grab a mandate that belongs to the judiciary,"
